Hello Team Teagan,
We're on the move! That is the latest from AMC. After much "discussion" in the huddle (that's what we call it when Teagans Dr.'s all stand around in the hallway outside her room discussing our future), Teagan was moved this morning out of the PICU and back into the D-Wing... to Room D723. Although we don't plan on staying there very long.
Since our last update, Teagan is free of all cords, hoses and wires, and has been gaining speed in her recovery and planning our escape, as can bee seen in the attached images, for sometime on Monday.
Her blood counts have slowly been making a climb towards acceptable levels, her Pacemaker wires have been pulled and her heart, although still in heartblock is now in level two heartblock, which I guess is a good thing... It seems to be moving towards normal... SLOWLY, but moving.
The plan is for her to undergo a bone-marrow biopsy tomorrow and make a small adjustment to her central line, as apparently she has somehow managed to pull the line out slightly - what a surprise. Her Docs feel that they can slide the line back in and make a more stable suture - guess they don't know Teagan, as she has somehow managed to set new limits even at AMC. This is only an example of all her future accomplishments. She's being such a trooper, even though she still fears anyone entering the room in a Labcoat or Stethoscope. Hospital Staff have become very accommodating to her needs, and be removing labcoats, prior to entering. She has also decided that an EKG is completely overrated because attaching the 10 leads to the proper location has become quite the challenge, as she can remove them as fast as we can attach them.
Even her chest X-Rays now requires Holly to hold hand and feet, while a nurse holds the protective lead vest in front of Holly, while the tech operating the X-ray machine rapidly moves the machine parts to center the light on her chest, before Teagan pulls a Hudinni (think I spelled that wrong, but you get the point)
Now, It seems in the continuing efforts to help, my Parents, who own the Grill Restaurant at the Exit 19 Ramada. Have scheduled a Benefit Dinner for Teagan on Wednesday March 21st. My mother will be assembling one of her fabulous buffet dinners starting at 5:00PM.
I don't know all the details, but I know my mother usually has quite the assortment of German and American Food, Pasta and Desserts. I don't believe they require reservations, but if you're in the mood for a great meal with a cause, give the restaurant a call at 793-1149.
I will probably be attending with the Tyler and Tanner, as Teagan will hopefully be home, but can't attend anything like this because of the potential of germs, which her immune system can't deal with at the moment.
Thanks again for all the support and prayers, and enjoy the pictures of Teagan, we're so glad that she's back to being our "TEAGS"...
Stay Tuned,
Juergen
