Team Teagan Update | 3-29
Hello Team Teagan,

“ROUND TWO”, Part B…

Teagan's New HatThis is an addendum or correction to yesterdays email, It seems the Chemo session she started yesterday, will last until early Friday at which point she’ll come home for the weekend and continue with part 2 in the middle of next week, for what is to be a 4-5 day stay… home briefly after that and back for the “neutropenia” , low blood counts which could be up to another week stay… I think that Albany Med is in cahoots with the Oil companies, as this is just a ploy to get us to spend more time causing congestion on the highways, and contributing to their 10 billion dollar quarterly profits, to which I’m definitely making my contribution.. I guess I’m spoiled, because usually my car doesn’t even get a chance warm up for my drive to the office during my 3 mile commute… But thanks to our friends and families who have sent us Gas Cards it has definitely lessened the shock… I don’t know how those of you who commute daily to Albany or some other distant location do it… God Bless You!

Last evening, as I went to visit Holly and Teagan – who CAN have visitors (Room D725A), to answer the question I’ve gotten from many of you. - We just ask that if you’re dealing with a cold or flu that you use common sense…

So, after my 3 mile hike from the parking lot - dragging Holly’s luggage (think she packed for a month), duffle bag, laptop computer, 2 bottles of soda, dinner from Pepper Jacks, and one of the two baskets Teagan received from out friends at Seton Health (Thanks guys, she loved all your gifts, especially the hat which you can see when you visit www.teamteagan.com ), I was greeted by that infectiously smiling face saying “dada” accompanied by the proper sigh of the thumb to the forehead… It seems we’ve accepted our fate, as we’re now well known to most of the nurses, doctors, med students, parking attendants and even (sadly) other families who suffer similar fates… Teagan’s roommate is an 11 year old girl who was just diagnosed with diabetes was briefly left alone in the room as her parents ran home to get clothes and other vital supplies for their daughter, upon their return to the room they wandered aimlessly thought the hallways looking for sheets, and a place to put the half eaten food tray (but that’s another topic on it’s own)… Holly and I guided the AMC “Virgins”, to where they can find sheets, pillows, drinks, Ice and explained as best we could “why” they can’t get wireless internet for their daughter to connect with her friends during her stay…

I still plan on contacting Verizon for help on this issue. I can’t imagine that it would be a major expense for a company that large to donate 3 or 4 activated wireless cards, which easily install in most laptops, so the family can communicate with friends, family and even teachers during their stay. Wouldn’t that be a tax write-off anyways?? We’re fortunate to have friends like Ava from KEI Quality Resins (PLUG), who has provided us with hers (Thanks Ava), but many of the Guests at “AMC” don’t have those connections.

As I mentioned in the previous update, I’m trying to switch my method of sending updates. This will be the last update I send using this method of cut-n-pasting names into the bcc field. I will switch to using the mail feature built-into the www.teamteagan.com website. This will allow me to simply post the message to all registered team members on the website from where ever I’m at and I won’t have to worry about keeping my mailing list withy me. So, if you want to continue getting the updates, or know of someone who does, take a second and enter your info at the website… www.teamteagan.com... I notice many of you did… kinda felt like a run for the “blue light special” at Walmart (that’s not a plug, they’re not customers of mine) with all the new sign-ups… I’m glad so many people care to find out what going on with us and Teagan… It helps us get through this difficult time knowing we have such a huge support group… “Team Teagan”

Again, thanks to all our friends and family who continue selflessly offer their support, it is truly appreciated.

Juergen, Holly and Kids
