Hello Team Teagan

“Giving Up Control”… Imagine going through life without being in control of where & when and what you able to do… It’s like sitting on a train, looking out the window, all the other trains come and go, people get off, others get on… all the while your train car moves forward a few feet only to move back a few more. The conductor occasionally walks through your car and you longingly look up for an answer. He only shrugs and walks past… You may get moved from one seat to another, but you just don’t go anywhere… Yet all around you, you’ll see life continuing for others, complaining about things that on a greater scale are petty and irrelevant… Things like why my child is not walking yet, or maybe hasn’t grown all their teeth yet… At least they’re healthy and they can get on that next train to the grocery store, go on vacation or visit some friends. But here you sit, in your chair, looking out window into a hallway filled with doctors and nurses controlling your fate, wondering when you’ll get see you friends or family again.

When you child gets sick, has a fever, you provide some medicine, a hug and some special caring… But, when dealing with an illness such as Leukemia, you have no control. You have no way of making that child understand or feel better. It’s in the hands of the doctors and nurses, who deal with dozens of kids each day. You look up each time someone enters your room looking for an answer, but they have none. They don’t know!

Each day the nurses bring Holly a piece of paper, on that paper are numbers and she closes her eyes briefly to pray that they have gone up from the numbers she saw the previous day. Because if those numbers have gone down, we know it’s going to be a rough day. Add to that that Holly’s father is having a serious cardiac procedure (Cardiac Ablation) in Plattsburg on today. And I know that Holly is sad to be unable to be there… Please keep him in your prayers too…

So, here we go starting another day – sitting on our train playing the numbers. Maybe one of those adjacent trains will stop and drop off a friend or even a family member who has not yet been able to see you because their train has kept moving…

Thanks for continuing to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. And if you get the urge to visit or call, we keep numbers posted on the website… www.teamteagan.com... And I’m sure at this point Holly and Teagan would love to see some of her friends AND family.

Take care,
Juergen
