Team Teagan Update | 7-3
Hello Team Teagan,

Click to See The Gallery! Because Juergen is so bogged down, I am going to attempt my first update...I'm sure the humor won't be as great, but the grammar/english is sure to be better!

Overwhelmed.I guess that is the word that best describes my feelings on Saturday morning. I was so touched by all the support for the 5K Run for Teagan held at the Saratoga State Park on Saturday. First of all I want to say "Thank You" to an exceptional young woman - Jackie Scotti - who arranged this entire event. Jackie - you are the greatest. I can't believe all she did for us. Thank you also to everyone who helped Jackie, the sponsors and to all who participated. It was a beautiful day and I think we had almost 200 people run/walk! Juergen and I both made it to the end, although not with stellar times! We had some trouble moving later that night and could barely get out of the chair after watching a movie! Again, we are so grateful and blessed by knowing all of you.

Teagan - she was able to attend the run/walk and showed off her grand wave and smile. We were so happy she was home. She and I spent yesterday afternoon at AMC clinic and most of today at AMC for a platelet transfusion. It is quite a day trying to keep her occupied an in a bed for 2-3 hours. I think I could probably run a children's circus or at least a variety show at this point. She is doing well, but this is the point in her treatment when we have to be careful around others - she is neutrapenic, which means her white blood cell count is very low and she cannot fight off infections. In the next week she will either get a fever and end up at Hotel AMC or she will begin to produce new WBC and work her way to the next round of chemo in a few weeks. We hope to stay home as long as possible.

Parker - As you know Parker, our 8 year-old basset hound, was diagnosed last month with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Last night and this morning he has been going downhill. He was barely able to walk and has not eaten. It makes me so sad, as he has been a loved pet and it is so hard to watch him struggle. The vet told us he may have a bad day here and there, so we are watching him to see if he will improve. Right now he is sitting under the kids' swing set and I just spent some time sitting out there and petting him. I hope we will have a little more time with him. I feel so guilty that he has been neglected so much lately.

Davis Reunion - I am so pleased that my family came up with the idea to have our annual Davis reunion at a hotel in Albany so Teagan will be able to take part in it, even if she is at AMC. I am so touched that my parents and siblings thought of this and are spending the extra time, money and travel to include her. Thank you all. I am so appreciative.

OK - well, I am hoping Juergen will post this for me, as I haven't a clue how to do it!! He probably will think it is too sappy! Thank you all for your places in our life. We are blessed.
